Dear Allen, Kwan-cheng & Chiuen-Chao:

Thank you for organizing this successful reunion. I really enjoyed it-especially the opportunity to exchange personal greetings with many old boyhood friends after so many years.
Despite the fact that I could only attend two days of this event, I did have opportunities to share some personal observations on our passages through life with old friends during the tours and meals.
At the Water Company Museum, I learned the history of the early settlers in Taiwan and how an English engineer changed the quality of life there in a profound way. I also learned the origin and meaning of
several names such as "Kguon-Kuan" there.
I bought some bags of vegetarian beef jerky made from mushroom stems near Shi-men. These stems were considered useless in the past. I found out for the first time that some of my friends are allergic to soybeans and
tsao-mee despite the fact that they are considered among the healthiest of foods for Chinese.
Some of the activities are combined with the Taipei First Girls School, such as the banquet, which is a very good idea. Many graduates from both schools become couples after graduation. Also there are many mutual
friendships between graduates of both schools.
The air-conditioned subway system has totally recovered from the terrible Nari Typhoon. It is really clean, safe, and convenient.
It was really a wonderful sentimental trip back to the distant past-especially knowing from hind sight and from afar that we all grew up in a place that was the front and center of many world conflicts in a most turbulent and uncertain era.

Hello Professor,

Thank you for your message.

In fact, Lin Jinty has already sent a 'request for articles' to Ba-Ban's classmates about a week ago. I am sure we will respond accordingly. Personally, I promised him to send over some short articles. Whether they are appropriate for publication is a different matter, and up to the editors.

We cannot thank you and other organizers enough for the wonderful arrangement you gentlemen made. Everything was perfect; the reunion was filled with fun, emotion, and memory . After returned home, I talked to some friends and relatives about the reunion, and I could see or sense their envy, because they never had such an experience.

By the way, I have passed on Your wife, Ms. Liu's office telephone number to my sister.

Look forward to seeing you soon.

Best regards,

Allen, I am very glad to know we are planning to have reunion again in 2004, but I am not very clear whether it is going to be held in L.A. area. If it is in L.A., I definitely will do my best to help and to take some responsibilities. I will try to find out Samuel Lee's e-mail address. Thank you very much for your effort to organize the reunion that was so successful. We also enjoyed the 3-day trip to Hua-lein, Tai-tong. John (Jin-Jau

Dear CH, To tell the truth, I love to write something about our reunion. As you know, whenever I am moved, I need to "ventilate" my feeling through the tip of my pen (now I should say through the tip of my finger touching the keyboard). I have been extremely moved by our reunion, and truly appreciate all the hard works and long hours you all have put in for this memorable event. Thank you again, and you can count on me that I will write, probably submit within two weeks. At least, this is something I can do at my leasure time (if any), and not to have any excuse of "conflict of my time schedule" for my previous not attending preparatory meetings. Please extend my sincere gratitude to all the classmates who have done so much for us. cw

I have talked with Chu Jiazeng from San Diego after they returned from the recent reunion and have learned that those participated have had a great time. I was told that Class #4 has a great turnout of 24 alumni with 10 from the overseas. I look forward to another one in the future in LA area.

Hi:
Jean and I had a great time in the reunion. I had not been back to Taipei for 32 years until this reunion. We would like to thank Allen for doing such a wonderful job in organizing the reunion and moving the activities in a most interesting and wonderful way. What an experience. cheers,
